Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

A private island 130 kilometres south of Mahé, with 50 pool villas, five restaurants, and an active sea-turtle conservation programme.

A private island given back to its wildlife

Platte Island sits roughly 130 kilometres south of Mahé, reached by a 25-minute flight that lands on the resort's own airstrip. Fifty villas run along 3.5 kilometres of shoreline, each with a private pool, garden and outdoor shower, and few enough neighbours that the beach rarely feels shared.

The island doubles as a working conservation site. Hawksbill and green turtles nest on its beaches, a family of Giant Aldabra tortoises roams its interior, and a Discovery Centre explains the monitoring behind both. Five restaurants, a six-suite spa and a private landing strip make it a serious retreat as well as a quiet one.
