An island crossed on foot
Niva Velassaru Maldives sits in South Malé Atoll, a twenty-five-minute speedboat from the airport and close enough to Malé for a city stop either side of the flight. The island is small enough to cross on foot in minutes, ringed by a white sand beach and a lagoon that stays calm and shallow well past the shoreline.
Nine villa categories run from garden to overwater, all refreshed under the resort's Niva identity, which took effect in January 2026. Five restaurants and two bars sit along the beach, over the lagoon and beneath the moon, and the spa stretches out on its own jetty above the water.
