Water Villa
An overwater villa on stilts above the lagoon, with a living room that opens to a private verandah over the reef.

A single-island resort on Falhumaafushi, in the vast Gaafu Alifu Atoll, with an overwater Spa by Clarins and a restaurant at the end of a 230-metre jetty.
The Residence Maldives sits alone on Falhumaafushi, in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll south of the equator, one of the largest atolls in the world and far enough south to see fewer resorts and more reef. Ninety-four beach and overwater villas run along its shoreline and out over the lagoon, each built with a thatched roof, dark timber and its own stretch of terrace.
A sister property, The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah, sits on the neighbouring island and shares the same owners, though the two are run as separate resorts. Here on Falhumaafushi, the pace stays quiet: a jetty restaurant over the reef, an overwater spa, and a fitness deck tucked into the garden are as far as the resort pushes itself.

Seven categories in total, from a garden-facing Water Villa to two-bedroom villas built for families, each with a private pool from Deluxe Water Pool Villa upward.
