Sirru Fen Fushi sits alone in Shaviyani Atoll, a 55-minute seaplane flight north of Malé, ringed by one of the largest private lagoons in the Maldives. A nine-kilometre house reef runs from the beach, and the water stays calm enough for swimming straight off the sand.
120 villas spread across the beach, the lagoon and a stretch of jungle, each with its own pool. Guests can swim out to the Coralarium, a semi-submerged art installation built for coral regeneration, or spend an afternoon at the resort's 200-metre infinity pool, one of the longest in the Maldives.
