The wild south, quietly composed
Shanti Maurice sits on 16 hectares at St Félix, on the least developed stretch of Mauritius' coastline, where sugar cane fields run down to a sheltered bay. The resort's low, Vastu-inspired pavilions keep a deliberately light footprint among lawns, ponds and a small pocket of indigenous forest.
Sixty-one suites and private pool villas face the bay or the beach, and a short walk covers most of the estate. Four restaurants, an 18-hole championship course a short drive inland, and a 7,500 m² spa built around Ayurvedic medicine give guests reason to stay put for a week rather than pass through.
