A ring of villas on its own island
The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands occupies one of three islands that make up Fari Islands, in North Malé Atoll, a 45-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. Kerry Hill Architects arranged its 100 villas in a wide ring, each one curved and slatted for privacy, circling a lagoon-set spa in what the practice called its Circle of Life design.
Beyond the ring, a further stretch of villas lines Grand Sunset Beach. Seven restaurants are spread across three distinct quarters, from a marina village of street food to an overwater teppanyaki room, and every villa comes with its own infinity pool and a butler known locally as an Aris Meeha.
