Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts

A private headland at Anse Aux Poules Bleues, once the home of photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri, with four restaurants and a spa cut into the cliff above the bay.

A photographer's private headland

Mango House Seychelles occupies a headland at Anse Aux Poules Bleues on Mahé's south-west coast, a bay known locally for the marine life visible from the shore. Forty-one rooms and suites step down the hillside across three houses — Cliff, Bay and Ocean — each with its own balcony or terrace over the water.

The property began as the private home of Italian fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri, and something of his eye for composition remains in the low, uncluttered interiors and the framed sea views. Four restaurants, three pools and a spa built into the rock keep the pace unhurried.
