Madifushi Private Island
A 16-hectare private island in the untouched Meemu Atoll, reached by seaplane, with a long crescent beach and a lagoon deep enough to swim year-round.
One island, two shorelines
Madifushi sits alone in Meemu Atoll, an atoll with no other resort on it and few visitors passing through. Guests land at Malé and continue by seaplane, a 35-minute run low over open water and reef before the island appears as a thin green line with a lagoon around it.
The 80 villas run in two directions from the central beach club: beachfront on one side, overwater on stilts on the other, each with its own plunge or infinity pool. Two restaurants, a spa built around Maldivian healing traditions, and a PADI dive centre cover the rest of a stay that otherwise asks very little of its guests.
