LUX* Le Morne sits on the peninsula beneath Le Morne Brabant, the basalt monolith that gives Mauritius' south-west coast its skyline and its UNESCO World Heritage listing. Single-storey pavilions line a long white beach, low enough that the mountain is rarely out of view.
The lagoon here is wide, shallow and reliably windy, which is why the stretch beyond the resort is ranked among the world's better kitesurfing spots. Guests who would rather stay dry have a LUX* Me spa, a clutch of restaurants that range from an eight-seat sushi counter to a Thai dining room, and a beach that needs no further reason to be there.
