A mile of white sand, minimal by design
LUX* Belle Mare sits on Mauritius' east coast, its low white pavilions and thatched roofs set back from more than a kilometre of pale sand. Architect Jean-Marc Tang worked in sand-white, coral and green, and the resort is built to sit quietly within its beach rather than compete with it.
There are 174 suites across seven categories and 12 villas with their own pools, five distinct restaurants, and a spa organised around five elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. Families are looked after properly, with a dedicated club for children and a separate space for teenagers, while a 2,000m² pool and the beach itself do most of the rest.
