A well-living island on Bodufushi in Raa Atoll, built around four pillars of wellbeing, with 68 pool villas, a resident herbologist and a sea turtle rehabilitation centre.
JOALI BEING occupies Bodufushi Island in Raa Atoll, a 40-minute seaplane flight north of Malé. The resort was conceived as a dedicated wellbeing retreat rather than a beach hotel with a spa attached, and its architecture, dining and daily rhythm are all built around what it calls the Four Pillars: Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy.
Sixty-eight beach and overwater pool villas sit along the shoreline and lagoon, each with a private butler known locally as a Jadugar. Guests can follow a structured multi-night wellbeing programme through halls such as KAASHI and AKTAR, or simply keep to the beach, the reef and three earth-to-table restaurants. A resident marine biologist also runs the island's coral and sea turtle rehabilitation work with the Olive Ridley Project.

All 68 villas and residences are built to the same biophilic principles, each with a private pool, a personal Jadugar and a wellbeing bar. Categories range from one-bedroom overwater villas to four-bedroom beachfront residences.
