Hurawalhi sits alone on its own small island in Lhaviyani Atoll, about 400 metres long, ringed by a house reef and reached by a 40-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport. The resort takes guests aged 15 and over only, which keeps its beach, pool and restaurants quiet through the day.
Ninety villas sit over the lagoon or along the beach, each with a private sundeck. Below them, Hurawalhi's Marine Biology Centre runs workshops on the reef manta rays that gather in these waters, and its best-known table, the 5.8 Undersea Restaurant, seats guests behind glass a full storey beneath the surface.
