Two islands, a legacy of firsts
Conrad Maldives Rangali Island sits on two private islands in the South Ari Atoll, joined by a 500-metre bridge across the lagoon. Villas line both islands' shores and reach out over the water, with the house reef close enough to snorkel from most water villas.
The resort opened in 1997 as the country's first internationally branded hotel and has kept pushing since: Ithaa, the world's first undersea restaurant, opened in 2005, and The Muraka, the first undersea residence, followed in 2018. Nine restaurants, an underground wine cellar and a spa island round out a resort built on firsts.
